Imagine! Because I believe that is what design is all about, the ability to imagine, to envision, and more importantly to communicate it through drawings and samples so you can see what the completed project will look like! It is a pleasure to be associated with such a great company like Rayco with 25 years of experience offering superior

service and quality workmanship.

My goal is to help give you ideas and an understanding of what needs to be considered for the design of your new home or your remodel. I will look at products, colors and style and the possibilities of design for creating the home you want!

I have been in the design industry for quite some time and have my own interior design business. I have been involved in all aspects of design throughout my career; from cabinet design, interior design, to hard surfaces (tile and stone and wood) design. Early on, I did wall murals and wall finishing, yes, ceilings too! (www.janagellerdesign.com)

My experience is based on a fine arts background, a BFA in painting and the love of art.

I design through the eyes of an artist. The room is the canvas and I start with: the composition of a room, the layout, shape and form, the color theme, the use of hard surfaces, and the placement of the furniture and patterns and textures. For me, interior design is a living art.

The most important influence on a design are the people that live in the home and their lifestyle. Their likes and dislikes are key to finding the balance of a beautiful home. Unveiling their personal style combined with the style of the home they are building or remodeling identifies the choices for the finished project.  Design is an evolving experience starting with a clear understanding of the needs and desires of the client and laying out a creative vision that is more than the client could imagine.

In the weeks to come, my plan is to bring creative thoughts and information that can help you with your own design projects. Each week we can have a conversation about the elements of design and how those elements can help you with your project. I look forward to sharing ideas that hopefully inspire and help you to Imagine! the possibilities for your home!
